In the past, Italia 1 has participated in the coverage of top football action, such as the FIFA World Cup, for which Mediaset had acquired media rights. It was launched in 1982 and is available on digital terrestrial TV, cable, satellite and online via Mediaset’s official OTT service. Italia 1 is a private generalist television channel in Italy owned and operated by Mediaset.
